The Chair

I am honoured to serve as the Chair of Governors for Eden Girls’ Leadership Academy, Birmingham and champion and support the efforts of the whole school community.

Choosing the right secondary school for your child is one of the most critical decisions you will make as a parent. At Eden Girls’ Leadership Academy, we strive to exceed parents’ expectations by creating a culture of high expectations, delivering a high-powered, knowledge-based academic curriculum and ensuring staff are qualified, motivated and well-trained to deliver engaging and informative lessons.

The Local Accountability Board is fully committed to the ongoing development and improvement of all aspects of Academy life and the Academy’s STAR values of service, teamwork, ambition and respect inform everything we do. The LAB includes co-opted members of the local community, a staff representative and a parent governor. All of our governors have different skills and areas of expertise, which enable us to provide comprehensive support to the senior leadership team and staff.

Governors help to ensure that legal and statutory requirements are met in all aspects of the Academy’s provision and oversee the Academy’s day-to-day operations. We ensure pupils are safe, happy and well at the Academy, that the very best staff are recruited to provide an excellent quality of education to pupils and that pupils benefit from first-rate facilities. We also support the senior leadership team in shaping and driving forward the Academy’s strategic direction, monitoring the Academy’s budget and overseeing the implementation of key policies and procedures.

It is a privilege to be involved with the Academy and to play a part in nurturing the next generation of leaders.
